Cycad Trail

The Olifants River gorge lends itself so well to hiking that there are a number of excellent trails in this area and the new Cycad trail is one of the best. (More...)

Elandsvallei Trail

Nestled in the valley gorged out by the Elands River over millions of years lies this beautiful hiking trail.
It is on the 1,800ha Lindenau farm. This is a backpack trail and should be regarded as quite difficult, especially in hot weather. (More...)

Fanie Botha Trail

Much of the original trail from Sabie to Graskop led the hiker along forestry roads. This has to a large extent been changed to incorporate more areas of indigenous forest.
The whole trail is five days long although there are two and three day shorter options available. (More...)

Kaapschehoop Trail

This trail consists of several individual trail sections that can be combined together to form a trail of between two and five day duration. There are four trail huts, each ideally placed to enable the hiker to explore the beauty of the area.
The trails are situated in the historic De Kaap Gold Fields which has various hills, valleys, gorges and streams with names such as Starvation Creek, Fools Rush and Poverty Creek. (More...)

Prospector's Trail

The quaint old gold mining town of Pilgrim's Rest is the starting point for this 5-day trail. If you don't have the time to do the whole trail there are several shorter options. The history of gold mining in this area goes back to the 1840's. The trail passes many relics from these early days of mining as one climbs away from the start of the trail. (More...)

Slagthoek Hiking Trail

It is difficult to believe the spectacular beauty that is hidden away just off the main thorough-fares, but this is just one such area. Situated between Witbank, Middelburg and Loskop Dam, the one-day trails have been laid out to fully explore this natural beauty and are short enough to allow hikers to take their time and enjoy this very special place.
